Description
Due to on-going demand we are looking to recruit an additional Senior Electrical Engineer
.
The Role:
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will carry out a vital role as part of a dedicated project team, challenged with the task of delivering robust and cost effective power systems in the naval power technology arena.
You will be responsible for a wide range of electrical engineering activities from specifying requirements through to delivering designs fit for manufacture. The role will challenge your experience of designing optimum solutions in a cost competitive high technology environment. You will be working on:
• DC-DC converters,
• DC – AC inverters,
• High power drives (10kW – 2MW)
Working closely with other team members and sub-contractors, you will plan and carry out your activities to develop technical solutions, which successfully meet the overall project and customer objectives.
The Candidate:
• An honours degree with proven experience in a relevant electrical engineering background.
• A motivated self-starter able to integrate and work with a small team.
• Ability to apply best practice engineering and development techniques.
• Working knowledge of safety and environmental techniques.
• Fluency with computer based engineering tools is essential.
• Familiarity with defence power engineering would be an advantage.
