Description AFTERTREATMENT SYSTEM SIMULATION ENGINEER THERMO FLUIDS AUTOMOTIVE CONSULTANCY SHOREHAM - WEST SUSSEX
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Aftertreatment System Simulation Engineer to work within the Thermo Fluids Team which forms part of the Fluid Dynamics and Simulation Department at our client’s technical centre in Shoreham.
Although the Aftertreatment System Simulation Engineer will be part of the Thermo Fluids Team, this is a stand alone position which will give the successful candidate a real opportunity to make the post their own and to grow and develop this area of their business whilst developing and stretching their skills through exposure to a wide variety of projects involving all types of engine and vehicle classes.
The key responsibilities of the Aftertreatment System Simulation Engineer will include: simulation and analysis on a range of programmes to support aftertreatment system design and calibration; provide technical guidance to relevant parties; produce reports on findings and liaise with project teams and external partners such as OEMs, Tier 1 Suppliers and academia.
As required you will also be responsible for the ownership of aftertreatment models and lead model development activities. Simulation work will involve the use of existing developed models, coded in MATLAB/Simulink.
The successful candidate will require a solid understanding of engine emission catalysis and aftertreatment technology to support engine and vehicle emission compliance programmes using both experimental and modelling techniques. You will also need a good understanding of chemical processes in automotive catalysts, have experience of using MATLAB/Simulink and have the ability to prioritise and manage your own work load.
Candidates from an automotive or power generation industry or tier 1 suppliers would be welcome as would be a recent PhD qualified Graduate qualified in a relevant field.
