Description Bid / Programme Manager Transportation / Rail / Security / Comms Solutions Manager York based (London would be considered) – with travel to other sites around the UK and customer bases.

Our clients provide Project Management and Design solutions to the Transportation and Security markets. The current portfolio is primarily Rail industry related (split between Mainline Rail and London Underground) and focussing in the rail telecoms arena, software and systems integration of real time control systems and other turnkey projects covering a range of disciplines.
The primary purpose of the role is to lead and direct the production of competitive tenders to secure targeted profitable business. The role will require strategic thinking in order to win profitable business and there will be close liaison with other departments such as Sales to develop relationships with prospective customers to fully comprehend their needs and business drivers. The successful Delivery manager will lead a small team of Engineers responsible for the integration delivery of projects from £100K to several million pounds.
The position requires an experienced Business Manager with proven Engineering management experience and a significant amount of experience gained within the Transportation and Security sectors. You should have an understanding of the design and delivery of solutions. Solutions would include the following: CCTV, SCADA, Control Systems, ticketing systems, Public Address, Access Control, signalling communications etc etc.
Ideally applications will hold a relevant degree and possibly be a Chartered Engineer or a member of the Institution of Railway Signal Engineers or APM – or equivalent relevant – or equivalent relevant experience.
The successful applicant will be required to present to senior and executive levels within the company and to client organisations. You will have input into bids and tenders and strategic planning.
