Description FCP Product Group Manager Stevenage upto £55k Skills Required for the Job Engineering degree or similar qualification with typically relevant experience including some years as a Product Team Leader/Project Manager Strong interpersonal and man management skills in communication, delegation and motivation. Ability to define process improvements and implement them. In depth knowledge of business systems, schedule management and cost control. Skilled in the use of risk evaluation and project management methodology. Key Figures Manage a Team of up to 15 people and a budget up to £10M. Mission
Responsible for ensuring all relevant projects within the Frequency Control Product Group are managed to achieve the technical performance, cost and schedule targets. Responsible for the continuous industrialisation of the Group to meet market needs Main Activities
To take ownership of the design process ensuring compliance to this process through internal design and peer reviews across all products in the Frequency Control Product Group. Ensure that all programmes are well defined technically and proceed to cost and schedule by introducing a robust Poject Management process Ensure phase reviews are conducted at the relevant phase of the programme Training, coaching and development of the Product Managers and their staff. Optimisation of the deployment of the engineers in the Product Group. Minimisation of the cost of the products in the Product Group by employing Design For Manufacturability and Test whilst maintaining preferred parts usage. Continue to progress the plan to industrialise the FCP Group with Production Provide detailed technical and commercial proposals
Agree functional specifications for relevant equipments with Systems Engineers to meet Customer requirements particularly on R&D programmes
Ensure that a design lessons learnt process is held after delivery of EBB/EQM Promote the use of design models using ADS Create an innovation culture within the design community promoting the use of patents and publishing of papers Ensure that all the necessary engineering and business tools are available and used by the FCPG Provide inputs to the Capital Expenditure budget Ensuring adherence to, and maintenance of, the correct processes, methods, systems and tools for managing projects.
