Payload Engineering Manager Portsmouth Salary To 42000
Outline Job Profile:
An experienced RF systems engineer/manager is required to lead the payload systems engineering team and take responsibility for the systems engineering on a civil communications payload project. The role will also involve carrying out, or delegating as appropriate, related tasks such as system design, system specification, system analysis, system integration, specification and definition of hardware, liaison with customer representatives, attendance at design reviews and meetings. Support to platform/payload integration and testing will also be necessary and will involve some overseas travel.
Experience required:

Mandatory: A proven track record and minimum of 10 years post graduate engineering experience in RF communications systems or equipments. Strong technical competence combined with team leadership qualities shall be evident from the candidates track record and experience.
Desirable: Experience in several of the following:
· Spaceborne communications system design and analysis
· Payload system design and analysis
· Payload integration, validation and test
· Payload equipments design/build/test (e.g. HPA, LNA’s, DSP’s, Filters, Antennas)
· Digital and analogue communications
· System, sub-system, and equipment specification writing
· Requirements management

Tools/Equipment
Mandatory: PC literate, MS Office
Desirable: PV Wave, Visual basic, DOORS

Qualifications:
Mandatory: BSc in Engineering/ Electronics/Science/Mathematics
Desirable: Higher degree in Communications/Aerospace Engineering

Candidate Profile:

Suitable candidates will have:
· BSc qualification in a relevant discipline
· At least ten years relevant post-graduate engineering experience
· Team leadership skills
· A methodical approach to work, with sufficient commitment and drive complete tasks, even where adverse conditions are encountered
· Strong analytical skills
· Experience of working directly with customers and with the ability to present ideas and concepts to the customer with authority.
· Ability efficiently to organise and co-ordinate their work.
· Ability to generate innovative solutions and to communicate them
· A willingness to travel overseas

Specific Tasks to be Undertaken:

Specific tasks will include several of the following:
· Directing and coordinating payload systems engineering team
· Systems engineering management, including cost/schedule
