Skills required for the job
· Demonstrable experience working within a Facilities Maintenance and management environment
· Not colour blind preferred
· Confidential Pro-active/self starter
· Ability to work under pressure to defined deadlines
· Knowledge of maintenance of air-conditioning and mechanical plant and equipment within associated clean rooms and plant rooms
· Knowledge of M&E operational critical plant and services back up systems
· Good general knowledge required with the ability to reason
· Ability to liaise with management and workforce and to hit the ground running
· An understanding of Health and Safety and current operational legislation and building control
· Required to work overtime as required to support a project
· Fit and Healthy with the ability to climb ladders and towers
· Must be a team player, be able to work on own initiative, hard working, customer focussed with a flexible approach.
· PC Literate –Microsoft Word for Windows, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook Express, and Project , knowledge of auto CAD an advantage but not essential
Position Overview: To be an interface with the Portsmouth EADS Astrium business units and staff within the Portsmouth EADS Astrium property portfolio understanding and responding to their needs so far as is practical, legal and cost effective, through the efficient co-ordination of all the site facilities and services across all buildings in order to provide an exceptional service. This is achieved by the management of service levels with each of the other sections within the Facilities and site operations Department and front of house high profile delivery.
Main Activities
· Create and maintain fully concise files
· Preparation of specifications, drawings, programmes and the functional control of specialist sub-contractors
· Planning and controlling of production related projects, whilst minimising disruption
· Preparation of small works schedule programmes
· To obtain estimates, prepare and manage the budgets for project based jobs
· To manage projects to ensure they are on time, in budget and to specification
· Managing contractors

Electrical distribution / Mechanical services / projects within the property portfolio
Subcontract Control of: - Service Engineers (capital equipment)
Utilities by building: - Electricity Power Generation / Air conditioning / close control | | |
