Description
Programme Manager – Defence/Airborne System.
The company provides a complete range of Optronics products and systems, and services to government and commercial customers across the globe. They have a presence on all the major international defence programmes, providing key detection and surveillance solutions and support to air, naval and land forces.
Primary Purpose of the Role - This is a new an exciting opportunity to control product development programmes on the latest Threat Warning Systems The Programme Manager will be responsible for ensuring that Customer and Company objectives are achieved in terms of cost, schedule and performance. This will involve leading the programme team(s) and managing the customer interfaces.
Key Tasks - The Programme Manager will lead the programme team and manage the customer interface to ensure that the cost, schedule, contract and Company objectives for the programme are achieved.
Technical & Professional skills - The Programme Manager will have experience of managing high value (~£10M) Engineering and Manufacturing type product development programmes.
Experienced in controlling large product development programmes including software/hardware systems and engineers. Experienced in Bid/Proposal management. Management of a number of large multi national programmes (Export knowledge an advantage). •Experience in Qualitative/Quantitative Risk and Opportunities Management • Experience in the use of Project Planning tools, including Microsoft Project . Experience of managing interface into complex customer and partner arrangements.
Experience within the Defence/Aerospace sector.
Education & Qualifications - The Programme Manager will be educated to degree level in a relevant subject, preferably technology related or equiv •Prince accredited (preferable but not essential)
Personality / Behaviours - The Programme Manager will be a good facilitator •Able to lead teams •An effective networker able to operate in matrix organisation •Persuasive and forceful. Demonstrable organisational skills.
