Description
Subcontract Manager, based Portsmouth rate to 40per hour an initial 6 months contract
Applicants will need to have
Experience in the successful management of technically challenging development subcontracts.
Experience of leading a team in formulating, negotiating, placing and managing a subcontract.
Have a project management background with additional technical and commercial skills.
Ability to solve related problems including the creation of innovate solutions to internal and external issues whilst demonstrating sound decision making capabilities.
Business. Commercial and Contractual acumen.
Good negotiation and presentation skills.
Strong supplier and customer facing skills and the ability to build and manager relationships across all levels within the organization.
Desirable:
Formal sub-contract management qualification or training.
Computer literate and experienced in the use of MS Office and SAP applications.
Previous Experience:
Essential:
Previous practical experience of managing terminal or equipment programmes/projects in a large Aerospace or Defence Organisation.
Experience in Subcontract and Project Management.
Previous experience of working in a bid function and the production of bid input data.
Previous practical experience of Configuration and Change control in a large company.
Experienced in the use of MS Office.
Finance and commercial background/experience.
Outline Job Profile:
The Subcontracts Management Team within the Terminals and Products Business Unit in Astrium Services are seeking an experienced individual to apply Subcontract Management expertise across complete project lifecycle fro Bid through to Support. The role covers all aspects of subcontract Management including the definition, negotiation, placement, delivery and performance of subcontracted goods and services for satellite terminal sub-systems and equipments in accordance with business processes.
The role will require the candidate to:
Take responsibility for assigned work packages to provide subcontract management throughout the project lifecycle from bid through support.
Deliver effective subcontractor selection, value for money subcontracts and timely completion of subcontracted goods and services.
Support the business unit bidding function in securing work by influencing procurement requirements, the identification and negotiation with potential subcontractors, obtaining/generating cost and price and creating subcontract procurement pla | | |
