Description Summary of the role Member of a team of materials scientists responsible for manufacturing and characterising inorganic materials, specialising in electroceramics.
Key accountabilities · To contribute to manufacture, component fabrication and production for electroceramics · To carry out the duties of associated roles within the Inorganic Materials Team with agreed terms of reference

Knowledge, Qualifications, Experience & Skills · An understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation and its application · Experience of working with toxic/hazardous materials · Demonstrable breadth and depth of relevant technical knowledge · A degree or HND/NVQ4 level knowledge in chemistry or materials science or an · equivalent combination of qualifications and experience · Practical ability in chemistry or materials science · Effective working with others in a technical environment · Effective application of technical knowledge · Effective communication of written and oral information · Ability to work with toxic/hazardous materials · Ability to operate test equipment · Ability to produce technical reports · Ability to interact well with other Groups, both at AWE and outside · Computer literate
Special Requirements · Able to work with toxic materials · Able to travel overseas, if required
