Description Summary of the role
To provide a professional Production Support Service for the Production Section; responsible for Planning, Materials Procurement and Production Control.
Key accountabilities
PLANNING:
· Manage an MRP II system to provide short term Manufacturing Plans / Production Schedules · Produce medium and long term Manufacturing Plans · Generate Procurement Plans for Materials and Support Items, and monitor against them · Manage upkeep and development of Planning Process Documentation (Work Instructions) · Resource Planning and Progress Reporting
MATERIAL MANAGEMENT:
· Manage material procurement activities to ensure materials are available on time and to specification
GENERAL:
· Provide a manufacturing estimating service · Project Manage small interdepartmental teams to meet production programmes · Keep customers informed of progress · Monitor and manage the timely completion of manufacturing Milestones and Key Events · Ensure the Production Team remain focussed to meet the customer’s requirements

Knowledge, Qualifications, Experience & Skills
· Knowledge of Project Management and Planning Techniques · Some knowledge of manufacturing techniques associated with rubber and plastic components · Degree in an Engineering or Scientific subject · Extensive experience in an Engineering / Manufacturing Environment · Good problem solving skills · The ability to understand technical specifications and relevant Company Procedures · Computer proficiency in spreadsheet, word processing, presentation, project planning and MRP II software · Competent in the writing of clear and concise technical reports and presenting technical information · Ability to lead a team · Good clear, concise, fluent and unambiguous communication skills at all levels within the organisation · Good assertiveness skills
