Description
Product Engineering Manager
The Project Engineering Manager manages the engineering schedule and costs on behalf of the Head of Engineering.
Accountable for the engineering schedule adherence and cost control of the extended enterprise.
Ensures:
Robust planning and commitments from the engineering teams and LGS suppliers.
The engagement of PCLN to support the engineering project deliverables.
Statements of Work (SoW) are issued for each significant work package.
A robust AOP preparation for ATA 32 to support both the CoC and Programme AOP submission.
That costs are tracked to correct budgets with robust forecasting for each engineering group.
Robust Risk Management practices are deployed and engaged.
Robust Configuration control.
The PEM operationally leads the Project Support Engineers.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Time
Responsible for engineering schedule management to the HoE
Accountable for engineering schedule adherence to the HoE.
Responsible for regular schedule status reporting to HoE, LGA & programme.
Approves all schedules.
Cost
Accountable for cost estimates to the HoE & Dept Heads.
Responsible for control of spending and Resource Planning.
Approves engineering cost estimates & Statements of Work.
Quality
Responsible for the quality & CM of PP&C documentation.
Operational manager of Project Support Engineers and the Engineering Configuration Control team.
An experienced project manager with proven Engineering experience in a project manager role. The successful candidate will be familiar with requirements based system development in the aerospace industry, will have a professional PM qualification and will possess excellent communication skills.
Capability in PM tools and Microsoft Office applications is required.
Experience in task planning, and resource planning/forecasting in a complex engineering project is desirable.
The successful candidate will be fluent in English, and will have experience of working with internationally based suppliers.
