Description Summary of the role Train to meet the following :- As a member of the Manufacturing Process Engineering Group, to provide effective Tooling design, manufacturing and technical support to the manufacturing agencies and project management teams throughout AWE. The main purpose of the role is to introduce and promote best manufacturing practice in terms of improved productivity, implementation of new projects and resolution of day to day manufacturing problems.
Key accountabilities · Undertake the AWE accredited Graduate training scheme aimed at development to meet the following Company needs · Undertake tooling design activities in support of the manufacturing agencies, including becoming proficient in the use of Unigraphics and the production of 3D models and manufacturing drawings · Assist in the development of method and design studies on processes, equipment and tooling. Follow through tooling items, from design, manufacture and eventual prove out and commissioning · Undertake manufacturing engineering investigations of facilities and processes with the aim of improving productivity, and / or resolving operational problems · Working with Delegated Manufacturing Authorities to ensure Configuration Control to Manufacturing Authority (MA) Procedures for processes and related equipment · Establishing basic engineering structures for the PIMS computer based manufacturing scheduling system, and maintaining the Manufacturing Engineering data in the system · Ensure that line management are kept informed of any circumstance which might reflect on safety, security, efficiency and management of the facility or AWE · Support Team Leaders on matters concerning programmes, funding and workloads for manufacture and modification of tooling · Support Quality, Safety, Projects, Facility and any other relevant departments as necessary

Knowledge, Qualifications, Experience & Skills
· Of Tooling, processes and Engineering principles · Design of components · Be capable of understanding Site arrangements, procedures and organisation covering operations, safety, security and quality · Some basic understanding of manufacturing Processes · M Eng or accredited B Eng in Mechanical, Production or Manufacturing Engineering · Oral and written communication skills · Accurate record keeping · Computer literacy · Able to understand technical drawings and specifications · Good record keeping and filing skills
