Description
Summary of the role
Member of a small team responsible for providing a planning & programme function. Integrating and balancing manufacturing programmes across all production units with customer demands. The planner shall ensure that production programmes are fully funded and resourced and are compliant with current capability, resource and cost constraints.

Key accountabilities
· Develop and maintain an integrated manufacturing plan (Order Book)
· Develop and maintain manufacturing resource and cost profile(s)
· Interface and maintain close project links for review and reporting
· Monitor operational compliance with manufacturing procedures for planning and programme review
· Maintain and co-ordinate production performance reviews
· Provide regular performance reports against agreed manufacturing deliverables

Knowledge, Qualifications, Experience & Skills
· Sound knowledge and understanding of planning & scheduling tools, techniques and methodologies
· Sound knowledge and understanding of manufacturing business systems and processes
· Broad awareness of IT tools and technologies
· Ideally educated to HNC (or equivalent) with an essential emphasis on manufacturing
· Proven practical experience of planning, scheduling and budgeting of multiple projects aligned to a manufacturing industry
· Good computer literacy, sound knowledge of MS Project, Excel and the standard suite of Microsoft software
· Ability to provide clear and unambiguous information for use at all level within the organisation
· Capable of analysing and anticipating problems and issues that may arise
· Capable of producing cost and resource plans to deliver manufacturing plans and estimates
· Capable of prioritising and managing tasks and commitments to meet deadlines and budgets
· Ability to work under own initiative to achieve individual and team goals
· Good communication and presentation skills
