Description
Cad Engineer (ideally someone Highly proficient in the use of MCAD tools for mechanical design tasks) required in the Cardiff area to support the R&D needs from concept generation to production release - to include post-production support, as required. Generation of 3D MCAD digital models; Generation of 2D detail/assembly drawings; defining in a clear & concise manner the TPS to other company functions & external vendors
Your role will involve:
- Management of user generated MCAD data.
- Generation of product design inputs & ideas into the project team;
- Generation of technical presentations to support the introduction of new product concepts, comprising of MCAD images and/or manual illustrations
- Tolerance analysis of product assemblies; ensuring the TPS accurately conveys & reflects all aspects of product design, manufacturing & assembly processes.
You will ideally be someone with the following:
- HNC qualification or equivalent, with good industrial experience within a mechanical design office environment.
- Conceive & develop mechanical product design ideas/solutions.
- Compile clear & concise mechanical 2D detail/assembly drawings ? working to BS 8888 and its referenced normative standards
- Compile tolerance analysis reports ? to include prerequisites for datum assignment, limits & fits, linear stack-ups and virtual size techniques.
Previous experience of the following would be beneficial to this position
- Medical Devices
- Product design involving small closely toleranced assemblies
- Geometric tolerancing to BS ISO 1101. Product design of components involving injection moulding, metal pressing, EDM, photo-etching.
- high level of CAD/Engineering aptitude and an enthusiastic and organised approach to problem solving
