Description Summary of the role The design and development of analogue IC (Integrated Circuit) designs and analogue electronic systems in support of Programme Elements as required; notably the development and maintenance of demonstrable capability to develop arming, fusing and firing control systems.
Key accountabilities · Development of Warhead Electrical System sub-assemblies and related items · Design and development of analogue IC (Integrated Circuit) designs · Design and Development of analogue electronic systems · Ensure that designs meet the necessary safety and security criteria inherent in their functionality · Maintain at all times adequate design records and documentation to demonstrate fitness for purpose of the design and to ensure that customer quality requirements as laid down in the relevant Quality Plan are satisfied

Knowledge, Qualifications, Experience & Skills · Knowledge of electronic design techniques, in particular analogue electronic design · Knowledge of IC design and layout tools · Knowledge of electronic circuit analysis techniques · Minimum degree in relevant engineering/science discipline or HNC plus appropriate training/experience · Membership of relevant professional engineering institution or commitment to achieve relevant registration status · Some familiarity in the design and development of analogue circuits and systems · Familiarity of designing digital interface circuits · Ability to design analogue and digital circuits · Able to produce schematic circuit diagrams · Good problem solving and analytical skills · Computer literate in the use of both office and technical software · Literate and numerate to a level commensurate with the provision of technical reports · Ability to understand technical documentation · Good verbal and written communication skills
Special Requirements · Able to undertake overseas travel when required
