Electrical Engineer / Electronics Engineer
Woking, Surrey
£35,000 - £45,000 DOE Plus Bonus Scheme, Pension Scheme
Our client is a pioneering business that develops highly deployable instruments for customers in the energy, security and defence industries. An opportunity has now arisen for an experienced Electrical Engineer / Electronics Engineer to join their product development team.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with the right background from the electronics or high-tech industry to join a dynamic company at a key point in its development.
To succeed as the Electrical Engineer / Electronics Engineer you must have extensive experience of designing and developing electronic hardware, analogue and HF circuits, and ideally a degree (or equivalent) in electronics or a related discipline.
In addition to your extensive industrial experience, you should also have experience with some or all of the following:
- Generation of high-voltages using switch-mode techniques
- Generation of RF power for medical, industrial or scientific purposes: particularly closed-loop control of analog signals; Switch-mode power supply design, both low voltage and off-line
- Good theoretical grasp of RF, control and feedback theory
- High-speed digital design using FPGAs and standard logic families (i.e. Use of standard bus technologies such as PCI, PC104, I2C, CAN, RS485/ Use of D/A and A/D converters in high-noise environments)
- Schematic capture and PCB layout using Orcad or Allegro
- Use of embedded computers and microprocessors in complex real-time systems
- Practical circuit building/debugging and experience of using test equipment
The successful candidate will possess the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines in a fast-changing design environment, a positive attitude towards design and problem solving, and a clear regard for safety in the workplace.
