MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING MANAGER
ELECTRIC MOTORS
HAMPSHIRE
A fantastic career opportunity has now arisen for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join this world- leader in the design and manufacture of electric motors and revolutionary new wheel motors for the automotive and allied industries based in Hampshire. In this role you will support the product design process to achieve manufacturing capability; establish robust manufacturing and test processes; specify, purchase, install and maintain manufacturing equipment and continuously pursue opportunities for process and product improvement.
Educated to degree-level or equivalent in an Electronic or electro-mechanical discipline, the Manufacturing Engineering Manager will require experience: in the following: automotive industry (OEM or Tier 1); Greenfield organization; Manufacturing start-up and product development cycle from prototype to volume manufacture. Successful candidates will also need experience of the procurement of complex manufacturing and test facilities for electro-mechanical products (electric motors would be advantageous); maintenance of manufacturing equipment in a 24/7, just-in-time environment ; enlightened manufacturing philosophy (six sigma, etc.); customer exposure and programme management. Excellent problem solving; man management; appraisals and people development skills are also essential for this role.
