Description Summary of the role To undertake a formal Engineering Apprenticeship in either a Machinist, Mechanical Maintenance, Electrical or Electronic discipline, as the start of a long term career option.
Key accountabilities · Follow and benefit from a set development path to satisfy and complete the appropriate Apprenticeship programme · Bring to the programme a positive committed attitude to completing the appropriate training and development · Develop as a result of participating in all learning / development opportunities provided · Ensuring good personal attendance

Knowledge, Qualifications, Experience & Skills · A willingness to develop a knowledge in Engineering to develop a long term careeer · An inquisitive mind and therefore able to demonstrate some basic knowledge at interview - candidates with some basic engineering awareness tend to perform better at interview · Entry is assessed via ability testing and therefore no minimal educational standard is required · No practical experience is necessary however experience in working as part of a team in the workplace / school or college would be beneficial · Evidence of experience of taking personal accountability for learning and development will be advantageous · A practical aptitudefor technology · PC literate an advantage · Communication ability both written and oral · Basic skills in engineering will be an advantage
Special Requirements · Good eye sight and colour discerning ability · High level of mobility required for most operations posts · Will need to be able to work at height from ladders, mobile and permanent platforms · Able to work in confined spaces · Would be expected to climb into and over installations and machinery.
