Our client is a global, integrated producer of speciality and intermediate chemical products focused on satisfying its customers and delivering growth and value. An opportunity has now arisen for an E&I Technician / Electrical & Instrumentation Maintenance Engineer to join their team.

In this role you will be a key member of a multi-disciplined maintenance team, performing reactive breakdown, planned/ preventative, outage and project work activities in order to maximise plant availability to meet production requirements. This will involve practical ‘hands-on’ fault rectification.

As an E&I Technician / Electrical & Instrumentation Maintenance Engineer, your duties will include:

- responding to plant outages and emergency breakdowns as required
- using fault finding techniques to resolve problems
- contributing to the management of spares control
- where appropriate, liaising and coaching contract engineering labour
- participating in an on-call rota

To succeed in this position you must have experience in a similar role with an instrumentation bias, and a working knowledge of electrical systems, PLC and/or DCS controlled equipment and various field instrumentation.

You must also be apprentice trained (Electrical and/or Instrumentation/Control), and possess excellent fault diagnosis and correction skills. Experience of installation and commissioning would be advantageous.

Additionally, as the Electrical & Instrumentation Technician you must have the ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, have excellent communication skills and a highly self-motivated approach.
