Description Test Systems Engineer – Electronics Salary to £35K + Excellent Bens Location: Birmingham My client designs, manufactures and supplies safety critical electronic components and systems, most of it incorporating real time embedded software for products allied to the Aerospace Industry. They require a new Test Engineer to join their test and development team. The Role The role is based in the “Test Systems Design” group. To design/develop software and hardware required for testing aerospace products. The work covers all aspects of test equipment, from software/hardware development, training, liaising with internal and external customers and suppliers. You will be expected to manage test equipment requirements for a set of products at various stages of their production lifecycle. Essential skills • 2+years programming skills in one or more of the following: National Instruments Test Development tools, Labview, TestStand and LabWindows CVI; Borland, VisualC++,. Writing, maintenance and review of code to appropriate specifications. • Electronics background. Able to design analogue/digital interface circuitry, and analyze circuit diagrams for function in current designs.
USEFUL SKILLS • Working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems (DOS to WinXP), and PC Based equipment • Configuration control of software and documentation. • Knowledge/experience of applying National Instruments Software/Hardware to test systems programmable instruments (GPIB/PXI).
PERSON SPECIFICATION • Flexible approach, able to analyze software and hardware problems relating to complex electronic test equipment, and production units. • Strong interpersonal skills, able to communicate effectively to all levels in the business, both within the engineering development and production phase of a product. • Strong team player and able to work under your own initiative. • Qualifications: Degree in Electronic Engineering or related subject, HNC/HND in Electronics. • Able to work under pressure to achieve programme and production timescales.
