Description Well-established Aerospace Engineering Company requires a Workshop Foreman to delegate workforce and organise area in order to meet customer demands in conjunction with the shop-loading schedule, to meet delivery on time and within budget. Implementation of streamlining working practices, reducing flow times and costs. Supporting company vision and subsequent methodology and internal working procedures. Liaising with all supporting departments to provide a service to the demands of the build area Qualification Requirements: · Aerospace Apprenticeship or equivalent · Broad-based knowledge of CAA/FAA/JAR requirements · Ability to lead and organize people · Evidence of people management experience – able to lead and build teams, to achieve world class performance in a very competitive market · Good communicator- ability to communicate with staff on business, and other issues that effect the business
Duties, Responsibilities and Authorisation: · Co-ordinate Technicians and staff to deliver on time to plan · Move staff as necessary to cover workload · Work with production manager to implement a “work content reduction” program and be the champion for any initiative · Attend production meetings with all the information necessary to ensure that meeting is both informative and productive · Carry out brief with Production Manager as to progress plan. · Involve staff to develop meaningful measures and display in workshop · Allocate overtime · Monitor sickness/lateness · Ensure that PPC is worn · Work with Technicians to introduce process improvement · Meet regularly with Technicians to fix problems · Encourage staff to move across sections for training and to cover workload · Staff to be encouraged to keep workshops clean and tidy · Ensure that manuals are in good order and up to date · With the Production Manager identify training needs of staff, and train as necessary, and practicable · With Production Manager to produce a training matrix for all staff · Investigate and report on all quality lapses: plan action to prevent reoccurrence · Work with and support Production Manager to enable new working methods to be introduced · Identify and take up training for self as required · Ensure staff work in a safe environment · In depth knowledge of Health & safety Regulations · Ability to handle several issues at the same time · Good motivator, and recognizes excellent as well as poor performance · Willingness to deputise for the Production Manager when required · All duties shall be undertaken in compliance with Safety and Environmental Regulations and Company Procedures
Hours are Monday to Thursday – 6.00pm to 2.30am and Friday 2.00pm to 10.30pm.
Salary £39,000 - £40,000 plus benefits
