Job Title: SENIOR DESIGN TECHNICIAN
Location: Hampshire
Salary £28-3000-DOE
Contract Type: Permanent
A Leading Aerospace Company are looking for a Senior Design Technician to join there wining team. The successful candidate will be to provide technical assistance to all departments in respect to design, manufacture, and quality issues.
To support design engineers in the production of detailed drawing packages
Key duties:
To work in conjunction with engineers and production teams to bring tasks/projects to completion within stipulated time and cost limits. To assist in gathering all necessary data, design layouts and investigate individual aspects of design for presentation at project and design review meetings.
To produce manufacturing drawing/documentation sets and effect all required dimensional and tolerancing calculations.
To investigate drawing and documentation Request For Changes and execute any necessary changes.
To provide technical assistance to all departments in respect of design, manufacture and quality issues.
Undertake any further engineering related tasks commensurate with this post as required by the design services team leader.
Job Related Experience
Experience in electro mechanical assemblies including PCB packaging
Experience in producing assembly and detail drawings of mechanical parts and associated manufacturing data, to suit different manufacturing techniques (i.e. machining / casting / moulding).
Experience in assessing current designs and manufacturing problems and finding technical solutions that meet the business needs.
Documentation and configuration control procedures.
Experience in compiling and maintaining Bills of Materials.
Good working knowledge of drawing standard BS 8888.
Experience in using 2D and 3D solid modelling CAD systems.
Working knowledge of relevant engineering publications and data sources.
Experience in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Qualifications
ONC or equivalent in mechanical engineering, supported by a minimum of three years proven design office experience working with electronics mechanical packaging.
