Description SENIOR DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER BASE ENGINES RENEWABLE ENERGY AUSTRIA
A Senior Development Engineer with sound experience of the development of engine parts, crankshafts and bearings from either diesel or petrol engines is now required to join this very successful, standalone company part of a major energy group based near Innsbruck in Austria which develops and manufactures large gas engines.
In this role you will lead mechanical development projects, including further development of existing products, the introduction of new technologies and the development of existing products, the introduction of new technologies and the development of new products in to their portfolio from concept through to production. You will work together with the development team to define and implement standardised development practices/processes for components, systems and engines. Furthermore you will lead the root cause/failure analysis of components from field engines, as well as drive the ongoing development to increase field reliability through collaboration with internal departments and external suppliers.
As Senior Development Engineer you will also support production improvement programmes and help solve production issues, manage cost reduction exercises, and provide the technical support for various programmes within other departments. You will undertake the written and verbal reporting and presentation of development results/project status to various levels of management and customers. You will work independently on individual projects and also act as a leading team member within extended projects. Moreover, you will support the professional development of other team members through ongoing mentoring in the technical and project management fields.
Successful candidates will hold a degree qualification (preferably Honours) or equivalent in Engineering or similar specialization. You will need significant postgraduate experience in the mechanical development of engines and have excellent project management skills. Experience in the definition, implementation and planning of validation test programmes based on standard quality processes (DFMEA, DFR, DFSS) for components/systems and engines is required for this role. Knowledge of the German language is not required but a willingness to learn is essential.
