A large aerospace company are looking for design engineers from either an avionic or mechanical background. Previous aerospace experience is essential along with understanding of airworthiness requirements from a design perspective. The company offer excellent conditions and a bright future.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
To carry out and/or control an assigned task or project, from instigation through to completion, in either a Focal or lead design/certification role, in accordance with Company procedures.
The tasking, supervision and motivation of both permanent and sub-contract staff assigned to the same project as he/she may be involved with or Focal for, as required.
To initiate and attend design reviews and progress meetings, and liaise with the customer, interfacing departments, sub-contractors or suppliers as required.
To exercise responsibility as an authorised airworthiness and checking signatory.
EXPERIENCE
Required
Should have considerable mechanical design experience in the aerospace industry, with a working knowledge of a recognised CAD system.
An understanding andexperience of current civil aerospace certification requirements, and in particular, EASA Part 21 Subpart J and other relevant requirements.
Previous experience as an Airworthiness checking signatory at Senior Design Engineer and Design Engineer Levels.
Preferred
Should have a sound working knowledge of AutoCAD R14, or 2002, and be conversant with Microsoft Office 97.
Should have a sound working knowledge of CAD systems such as AutoCAD 2004/6, Autodesk Inventor, or Solid Edge and be conversant with Microsoft Office.
Proven project management skills.
An understanding of UK Military Design Process.
CHARACTERISTICS
Must be a team player with good communication skills, and be self motivated, disciplined, and have proven supervisory skills.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess a basic security clearance in order to be cleared to work on our MoD accredited
CAD network.
EDUCATION
HNC/HND in appropriate subjects & Engineering apprenticeship (preferably aeronautical).
An appropriate engineering Degree would be an advantage
