A leading aerospace design and manufacturing company are looking for a number of project leads for an exciting new structural design project. Being able to manage technical aspects and resource for the projects is required
Role & Responsibilities:
Working as part of a team, often deployed to multidisciplinary projects, that ensures structural integrity of an airframe product.
Manage a team of Design and Stress engineers to produce aircraft design solutions meeting customer requirements, quality, timescale and cost.
Responsible for the delivery of; design schemes and detail drawings through the Design Review process, working in conjunction with other technical departments, manufacturing, suppliers and, the customer.
Design project management, including resource, programme and budgets.
Design estimates and bid preparation.
Technically liaise with current and new project participants, supply base and other sub-contract organisations and individuals.
Design support to Manufacturing by clearing ?day to day' problems
Support on-going continuous improvement initiatives, the development of personnel and design processes.
Prepared to work offsite for periods of time when required to meet project needs
Qualifications & Experience:
Aircraft structural design experience, in metallic and / or composite structures.
Knowledge of Geometrical Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
The ability to assess structural problems in high-pressure environments whilst maintaining engineering integrity.
Working knowledge of Catia V5 would be highly advantageous
Literate with Microsoft Office tools, Excel / Word / Project
Self-motivated, working from own initiative.
Good man management, communication and presentation skills.
An understanding of aircraft production methods and processes.
Qualification is experience related, minimum HNC Mechanical
