Description Continuous Improvement Engineer (Six Sigma / Lean Manufacturing) Sheffield, South Yorkshire £27,000 - £30,000 plus benefits
With extensive operations in the UK and USA, and growing operations in continental Europe and in Asia, our client is now aligning its plants and aggregated capabilities with the needs of customers worldwide.
They currently have an excellent opportunity for a Continuous Improvement Engineer to support the CI Manager in business improvement activities.
You will be expected to manage business improvement project tasks from identification through to establishing the solution and undertaking condition monitoring to ensure a permanent fix is in place. With this in mind, you will review and modify existing processes in a methodical manner whilst providing expert engineering support to the workforce. When required, you will also work closely with customer representatives in Lean based projects.
In this key position, you will be responsible for leading improvement teams mobilised from all manufacturing and management disciplines without close direction. You will also be required to advise on new equipment, new layout and new processes to increase production and efficiency.
The ideal candidate will possess a degree within a mechanical / engineering discipline or will hold the equivalent experience. You must have strong practical experience within continuous improvement and will ideally be familiar with Six Sigma methodologies. With a manufacturing background, you will be quality orientated and will have a disciplined yet hands-on approach. Due to the nature of the role, it is essential that you are organised with excellent team working, communication and IT skills.
Located in Sheffield, this role is commutable from areas such as Rotherham, Chesterfield, Mansfield, Macclesfield, Doncaster, Barnsley, Huddersfield and Wakefield.
