Quality Engineer
Sheffield, South Yorkshire
£25,000 - £28,000
With extensive operations in the UK and USA, and growing operations in continental Europe and in Asia, our client is now aligning its plants and aggregated capabilities with the needs of customers worldwide.
The Quality Engineer will be required to investigate and resolve customer and internal non conformance whilst analysing and communicating trends / quality statistics. In this role, you will liaise closely with the Continuous Improvement team to implement improvement activities and will represent Quality and Inspection at a range of meetings. You will also be required to update the workforce concerning any new quality initiatives and give refresher training when necessary.
Performing internal and external audits of the business and sub-contract base will be a requirement of this post and you will be expected to prepare internal and customer quality reports. You will supervise the running of the Technical Records Office and will take responsibility for arranging testing at the group test house. You will also support the establishment of the necessary quality management systems, through involvement in quality assurance audits that support the business unit performance and process quality improvement.
The successful candidate will have previously worked in a quality position within a manufacturing environment. Ideally you will possess an academic qualification and will have experience using the Q-Pulse quality system. It is essential that you have a hands-on approach and are highly organised with excellent team working and communication skills. It is also important that you are IT literate.
Located in Sheffield, this role is commutable from areas such as Rotherham, Chesterfield, Mansfield, Macclesfield, Doncaster, Barnsley, Huddersfield and Wakefield.
