Description
A major aerospace company has an urgent requirement for a Contract Systems Engineer
Role Purpose: Support team leader in development of hose movement sub-systems for four air to air refuelling systems
Key Responsibilities:
Preparation of technical estimates for non-recurring costs and manpower requirements
Requirements capture, validation and definition of verification strategy
Definition of system architecture
Allocation of requirements to sub-systems and components
Preparation of Specifications and other project documentation
Risk management
Technical management of external suppliers
Liaison with customers, internal and external
Liaison with specialists such as design, performance and ILS engineers
Liaison with other internal departments such as Product Support and Operations
Core Competencies:
Requirements capture, validation and management
Functional analysis
Creation of architectural concepts
Sub-system design; allocation of requirements, definition of interfaces
Systems integration
Systems verification and certification
Preparation of specifications and other project documentation
Risk management
Project engineering
Supplier liaison
Written and verbal communication
Qualifications and Experience:
Degree in mechanical, electrical or aerospace engineering
Understanding of electro-mechanical systems
Understanding of the qualification and certification of aircraft systems
Experience of an RM tool such as DOORS or CRADLE
Familiarity with Arinc 429 interfaces
Conversant with Microsoft Office applications
Key Measures and Milestones
This is a contract role within an existing systems team. The successful applicant will be allocated responsibilities according to aptitude, experience and prevailing project need.
