Description Senior Systems Engineer (Avionics) – Southampton
Main Responsibilities and Tasks:
Preparation of schemes for systems design for aircraft, aircraft modifications or projects arising from Customer specifications or approved Research and Development tasks.
Liaison with all other technical specialisations with the Design Office in order to produce coherent and comprehensive design solutions and packages.
Act as a CVE in an appropriate discipline.
Approve drawings, modifications and other appropriate Company documents for design approval within the scope of authority of their individual approval as promulgated in the Signatory Matrix.
To liaise with equipment suppliers to ensure that the Company is aware of current and new products on the world aviation market and resolve inservice problems.
Deal with customers' systems engineering problems and provide them with acceptable solutions, in conjunction with the Service Department.
To supply systems engineering information to enable the compilation of Maintenance Manuals, Illustrated Parts Lists, Service Bulletins and Maintenance Schedules to the Technical Publications Department and to proof read and approve for technical accuracy.
To manage proving and/or acceptance trials on systems equipment. To fault find and rectify problems found and to prepare test and design office reports.
To analyse and decide on courses of action for DQFs, NCRs, Production Permits and Concessions relating to systems engineering.
To work in close cooperation with Production Engineering and Production Departments to ensure smooth implementation of design requirements.
To provide technical support to the buying department by providing buying lists and approving alternatives parts.
To provide technical support and assistance to QA department staff in relation to major fault finding and corrections, as required.
Liaison with EASA/CAA, MoD and other regulators as required by the Head of the Office of Airworthiness or Head of Design.
