Leave the rat race behind and start a new relaxed life in a state with more than 1,000 mountain peaks, spectacular coastlines, four mild seasons, friendly people, some of the world?s rarest animals, and where more than 40 per cent of our Island is protected as national parks and reserves. The main Island, which compares in size to the Republic of Ireland, is home to about 500,000 people.
The air is scientifically proven to be just about the world?s cleanest and the soils are rich and fertile so the produce, seafood and wines taste wonderful. They do their best to manage the Island responsibly and in 2004 the US National Geographic Traveler magazine?s Sustainable Tourism Initiative ranked Tasmania equal third in the world, for wise land stewardship.
Tasmania is currently experiencing the lowest levels of unemployment in 30 years. As the competition to attract and retain skilled employees becomes more intense, businesses are looking for new sources of skilled labour - including recruiting skilled workers from overseas. | | |
