Description PRODUCTION ENGINEER ADVANCED COMPOSITE PRODUCTS BASED OXFORDSHIRE
We are currently seeking a Production Engineer to join the Advanced Vehicle Technologies department and to take responsibility for facilitating the manufacture of products throughout the complete production process.
As Production Engineer, you will liaise with the engineering and production team to ensure all products are designed with manufacture in mind. The role must ensure all jigs, fixtures, tooling and equipment are commissioned such that the product can be manufactured according to the technical and commercial requirements as agreed with the customer. This role will also manage and undertake long term projects relating to production whereby the strategic requirements of the business can be fulfilled.
Your main duties will include identifying, designing, developing, introducing and commissioning tools and assembly equipment, producing product validation plans, defining, developing and updating manufacturing processes and specifying and managing the introduction of new, replacement and additional manufacturing equipment.
To succeed as Production Engineer you must have a basic knowledge of high performance industries standards and configuration control and must be able to demonstrate a flexible attitude to working with new technologies and processes. You should have excellent technical written skills, basic project planning skills and an analytical approach to working.
Strong communication skills internally and externally of the business are essential, as is good time management and ability to prioritise work load to best effect. This role also requires a flexible approach to working hours.
Ideally the Production Engineer will also have a basic working knowledge of composite design and manufacturing processes as well as the ability to use CAD systems to generate designs of parts and tooling for the manufacture and processing of components at all stages of production. An understanding of 6sigma, Lean Principles, 5s and DFM techniques is also desirable.
