Description CAPITAL WORKS PROJECT MANAGER STRATEGIC GRID PLANNING TASMANIA, AUSTRALIA
We are seeking an experienced Capital Works Project Manager to join this electricity transmission network company whose vision is to be a leader in developing and maintaining sustainable networks. They aim to efficiently provide a reliable and secure electricity transmission service at a cost commensurate with appropriate and sustainable returns to shareholders; and to develop new business opportunities building on their established strengths.
To succeed as Capital Works Project Manager you must be qualified to degree level or with equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, with proven Project/ Program Management skills and the ability to lead and manage a team. You must also have experience and demonstrated success in project management of a number of projects having differing priorities, complexities, resource requirements and capital value.
The Capital Works Project Manager should ideally have the ability to communicate effectively with a range of persons including customers, contractors, technical experts and senior management, to work with the customer to satisfy their needs and to think strategically about issues and their impact on the delivery of the Capital Works Program.
You should have the discipline and skills to ensure that all issues and strategies are properly documented and implemented, sound knowledge of and ability to use relevant computer-based applications and knowledge and experience in the management and administration of contracts.
Knowledge and understanding of financial systems including project monitoring and control would be desirable, as would demonstrated ability to achieve agreed outputs of the job and to follow through and complete work. You must be able to deal with pressure, ambiguity and change, as well as novel and complex situations.
