DEVELOPMENT/ TEST ENGINEER
WARM AIR HEATING SYSTEMS
BRIERLEY HILL, WEST MIDLANDS
We are seeking an experienced Development Engineer to join this Brierley Hill, West Midlands based Design/ Development team to work on a range of gas, oil and solar heating systems, primarily for commercial clients.
As Senior Development Engineer you will be responsible for acting as product champion on the development of warm air products, ensuring that all products conform to relevant approval standards and are reliable/safe in operation, also ensuring that Development testing is considered, planned, and undertaken to agreed timescales as well as considering and promoting the use of renewable technologies such as bio-mass, heat pumps etc.
Your specific duties will include undertaking feasibility tests on initial prototypes to develop product concept and performance, and working closely with Designers to progress the concepts particularly on condensing warm air products. You will also produce a phase activity development test plan(s) / specification for each project and agree objectives with NPD Manager, and considering new technologies (and in particular renewable technologies) and liaising with suppliers to ensure that cost effective and innovative product designs are introduced
The Senior Development Engineer should be proactive in approach and foster good working relations with department colleagues and internal/external customers. You will also represent the company at technical committee meetings, will supervise Development Engineers/Apprentices and will deputise for NPD Manager as required.
You will support the NPD Manager in providing product training on all new products to both internal & external customers and will produce draft technical data for incorporation in product and commercial publications.
To succeed as Senior Development Engineer you should have experience of heat pumps or renewable energy products ideally with experience of combustion systems, ideally gas.
