Description Contract Systems Engineer required for an initial 6 month role based in Dorset. You will support the team leader in development of hose movement sub-systems for four air to air refuelling systems
Responsibilities
Preparation of technical estimates for non-recurring costs and manpower requirements Requirements capture, validation and definition of verification strategy Definition of system architecture Allocation of requirements to sub-systems and components Preparation of Specifications and other project documentation Risk management Technical management of external suppliers Liaison with customers, internal and external Liaison with specialists such as design, performance and ILS engineers Liaison with other internal departments such as Product Support and Operations
Competencies
Requirements capture, validation and management Functional analysis Creation of architectural concepts Sub-system design; allocation of requirements, definition of interfaces Systems integration Systems verification and certification Preparation of specifications and other project documentation Risk management Project engineering Supplier liaison Written and verbal communication
Qualification
Degree in mechanical, electrical or aerospace engineering Understanding of electro-mechanical systems Understanding of the qualification and certification of aircraft systems Experience of an RM tool such as DOORS or CRADLE Conversant with Microsoft Office applications
This is a contract role within an existing systems team. The successful applicant will be allocated responsibilities according to aptitude, experience and prevailing project need.
