Description
A leading multi national engineering OEM who design and produce precision tooling equipment are looking for a technical lead/manager with a proven aptitude for leading the technical aspect of a development project.
You will be a technical lead, lead a team be a key decision maker, shape the team and signatory.
Overall Responsibilities
As an integral part of the engineering team, you will be involved in the completion of technical projects and New Product Introduction activity and be responsible for the formulation of product and tooling designs with review to suitability for application. You will also provide support to manufacturing, procurement and quality areas consistent with principles of concurrent engineering. In addition, you will be expected to take an active role in continuous improvement of quality, products and procedures.
Specific Duties:
To provide supporting evidence to design proposals through the use of theoretical analysis tools, refining designs inline with results of system simulation.
To assist in the development of manufacturing techniques for both new and existing products.
To work with and guide the Design Draughting team to develop outline and detailed design information.
To investigate customer/supplier issues, establishing ‘root cause’ of identified problems and working with relevant departments to ensure corrective and preventative actions are completed.
To work with assembly and quality departments to define assembly and test procedures, ensuring these are formally documented and revision controlled.
To provide technical support to all departments within the business as required.
To ensure that all work carried out complies with company policies and procedures, and health and safety requirements as laid down by the company and by external bodies.
Skills & Personal Qualities Required
The job requires a working knowledge of design engineering in a high precision engineering setting. It requires skills in system-related problem-solving techniques for all potential problems encountered with any of our products
A strong decision maker with the ability to sign off engineering drawings
The interactive skills required to understand and communicate effectively with internal and external
customers are also needed in the position. | | |
