Description
Our Client are currently seeking a number of engineers to join their existing team supporting one of their clients based in the midlands. The Secondary Propulsion Systems team are looking to broaden their capability and capacity in submarine propulsion systems and equipment. Their current work streams include propulsors, steam turbo-generators, flexible couplings and noise attenuators, and overall propulsion plant architecture. To assist this growth a number of mechanical and electrical design engineers and procurement engineers are sought.
The placement is to be based at their client’s Derby office and is expected to last between 1 and 3 years.
Recognising the restricted nature of this work, candidates must have SC clearance.
A background and knowledge of submarine systems is advantageous but not essential.
Key Experience Requirement:
1 Conceptual and Innovative design of the following plant, items and systems:
· Marine propulsion and related equipment
· Submarine systems;
· Plant system design
· Rotating plant;
2 Technical Ability in the following areas:
· Fibre composites
· Boiler and Pressure Vessel Codes eg BS5500, ASME VIII;
· Noise and vibration for rotating machinery
