Description Our client is the leading supplier of its product to the UK market. Using a highly integrated approach to manufacturing, they aim to transform all of their raw materials into sustainable products.
They currently have a requirement for a Project Engineering Manager to plan, supervise and manage the engineering activities and resources on a major project that will recycle by-products from the manufacturing process and produce energy to power the plant.
The main responsibility at this stage of the Project is to close out the Option Studies and Value Engineering activities so ensuring a single, cost-effective technological solution has been engineered which can satisfy all the requirements of the Business Case. Accountabilities include: Leading and developing the engineering design team Planning and Managing the implementation, integration and scheduling of work Ensure all requirements have been captured, challenged and converted to technical specifications Overseeing the preparation of detailed designs, engineering drawings, technical specifications, reports and proposals Understand calculations for pressure vessels and ensure compliance with all Regulatory requirements, safety standards and appropriate Company standards Complete process and mechanical design calculations to validate fitness for purpose of plant, including safety design reviews. Lead the design development of new processes and equipment Produce, regularly update the list of engineering deliverables and ensure the delivery dates meet the agreed Program dates and millstones Skills and Knowledge required Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or similar Understanding of AutoCad, PDMS and alternative drafting and 3D design packages Experience at a senior level of managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams working on large projects A demonstrable backgronud in Engineering Design management Well developed planning and organisational skills Knowledge of FEL2 & FEL3 activities, PPP or FEED processes Familiarity with and use of a stage-gate project process will be advantageous Ability to work as a team member and contribute to the management
