Description
Key Responsibilities
Ensure design practises comply to appropriate legislation and to ensure that designs follow a modular approach. Ensure all designs are fit for purpose, the correct quality, cost effective and easily manufactured and assembled, enabling on-time deliveries and profitability.
To be an effective team member and ton highlight technical problems quickly, thus minimising cost penalty. Supervise details engineers, being responsible for overall design and assisting in placing orders and monitoring sub-contractors resources.
Education
HNC or higher in appropriate engineering discipline, a certificate or diploma in CAD / CAM technology or degree in Mechatronic Engineering or certificate / diploma in Project Control is desirable.
Experience
Must have served a formalised training programme and at least 5 years experience or equivalent in concept design, running & controlling and project responsibility and estimating of low and high value capital projects within the gauging and / or machine tool industry.
Three years or equivalent working experience in gauging, quality methods, manufacturing processes using FMEA and R & M. Must be conversant with the Hewlett Packard ME10 2D Design Package - now Once Space Design and AutoCAD.
