This is a first class career opportunity for a Senior Engineer or Engineering Manager to take responsibility for the development of new products for this leading manufacturer of quality pumps covering a whole range of sectors including general industrial, marine and process sectors.
The Engineering Manager provides engineering leadership for the specified Engineering Centre of Excellence (COE) across multiple sites servicing complex and technical space-based flow control products. This position will direct, develop, implement, and coordinate activities of engineering services for programs, projects and products and will ensure the engineering objectives for the COE are accomplished.
This position is responsible for the effective operations of the Engineering Centre of Excellence area in providing engineering services and support, research, evaluation and development. This role will identify and execute engineering capabilities necessary to accomplish current and planned programs and provide engineering resources and R&D services. The Engineering Manager will determine budget, staffing requirements, and control expenditures in a manner providing the most effective services to carry out the COE?s goals and mission.
In this role you will be required to develop overall objectives, long-term goals and business plans as related to meeting customer and engineering project requirements, will lead technical proposals, concept development and engineering cost estimates for the projects assigned and will develop and recommend operating policies, practices, and procedures to carry out engineering operations.
You will be responsible for reviewing work progress and conducting special reviews as required, ensuring adherence to engineering operating procedures as well as selecting, training, and developing subordinate personnel and reviewing and evaluating their performance in order to maximize personnel effectiveness.
To succeed as Engineering Manager you should be qualified to degree level in an appropriate Engineering or Science discipline with extensive experience to include demonstrated management experience of multiple direct reports and projects.
You must be able to demonstrate effective management skills to direct and manage employees and the unit area to achieve project and department goals and outcomes and should have a good knowledge base of supervisor skills and understanding of a supervisor and manager?s role and responsibilities.
The Engineering Manager must have an accomplished expertise, highly proficient knowledge and be considered a technical leader in the area of engineering expertise, engineering standards, principles and theories and must be able to communicate effectively the technology, its application and benefits to a wide audience to include customers and senior management. | | |
