TECHNICAL PLANNING ENGINEERS
ADVANCED COMPOSITE PRODUCTS
BASED OXFORDSHIRE

We are currently seeking a Technical Planning Engineer to manage the design, development & implementation of the production process & product validation phase of NPI for specific projects, to deliver a fully operational production line. A fully operational production line meets capacity, quality, delivery, cost & system targets set by the customer and the company.

Working as part of a multi-disciplined project team you will take the lead & project manage this ?production process & product validation? phase of the NPI process in line with overall project planning timings and working in conjunction with the rest of the project team.

As Technical Planning Engineer you will be responsible for the design, development & implementation of new production cells for new products in line with lean manufacturing principles and meeting capacity, quality, delivery, cost & system targets that satisfy customer requirements, deliver required margins and are compliant with company business systems. You will also be required to ensure that the production line is fully operational before being handed over to production management.

Specific duties of the Technical Planning Engineer include producing Timing Plans and managing the program ensuring that key milestones are delivered, producing process flow charts and a floor plan for the production cell and producing detailed capacity plans for each product ensuring that the necessary equipment is sourced & the layout is in line with lean manufacturing principles & delivers the required output at the required cost.

You will be required to specify manning requirement for the cell, to work with Design & Engineering ensure that all tooling & equipment requirements have been identified and are sourced, delivered & commissioned in line with the project timing as well as producing a PFMEA for each new production process and producing detailed work instructions for the all production processes and then training the production operatives.

You will also organise & lead the Run at Rate activities for each process, documenting the results and driving any improvement activities as required to ensure the requirements are achieved i.e. output, quality & cost targets. This includes KPI monitors, full timing analysis and updating the BOM as appropriate.
