Description SALES ENGINEER OIL & GAS INDUSTRY NEAR CARDIFF
We are seeking an Engineer to take on a Sales role, joining a small and friendly Sales & Marketing Team based near Cardiff in South Wales. This company is a world leader in the design, development and manufacture of precision, innovative downhole electromechanical data acquisition instrumentation for the worldwide oil and gas industry. Their products are used to measure of flow, pressure, temperature and other parameters within the well bore.
As Sales Engineer you will coordinate the timely issue and follow up of quotes and orders with clients globally, in conjunction with the Sales & Marketing Director and Area Managers.
Business is expected to grow 5 fold in next 4-5 years and this will depend on a strong sales team of which the sales engineer will be a critical member. Timely issue of quotes and follow ups, client satisfaction, timely invoicing and payment will all be key metrics against which this role will be measured
You will also be responsible for ensuring that orders are properly recorded, assisting the Sales & Marketing Director and Area Managers in following up on all invoicing with clients to ensure that invoices are paid promptly, supporting other regions as and when required, assisting in the development of sales material and ensuring that client visits are properly organised and hosting clients when required.
Ideally qualified to degree level, the Sales Engineer must have sound experience working in field running production logging tools or perforating on electric line or slickline. Sales experience would be of benefit, though not essential, but you must have good understanding of MS Office systems and proven ability to prioritise your own work.
Excellent written English and verbal communication skills are essential as you will be expected to develop and maintain effective relationships with clients (sales and invoicing), company sales and management teams and the operations department. The Production and Development teams rely on input from the Sales team so you must be able to communicate clearly and technically.
You will need the ability to work with minimum supervision and to deliver on time as well as being a good team player.
This is a unique opportunity to create your own success in a business with highly ambitious plans for growth. Following a major investment by a specialist oil and gas fund, this small but rapidly expanding business with an international client-base offers a challenging and fascinating position in Wales. The position is located close to the bustling capital city of Cardiff, and is a short drive from the Brecon Beacons and the Cambrian mountains. | | |
