Our client produces high quality speciality steels for sectors such as aerospace, power generation, oil & gas, industrial machinery and off-highway transportation.
They are looking to appoint a Market Development Manager with the capability of helping the business increase sales through identification and exploitation of customer needs, improving customer service and maintaining product quality and delivery.
This is an exciting opportunity for a marketing professional to join an upwardly mobile business within a major global company, operating in niche high value sectors. You will have the opportunity to significantly influence strategic direction and link directly with major EOMs. The organization is fundamentally addressing its approach to sales and marketing and looking to approach markets in new & different ways.
As Market Development Manager, you will be the point of leadership for strategic marketing within the Specialty Steels group, and a key contributor to the Group-wide Customer First programme.
You will lead the Sector Development Teams in their use of tools & techniques to build effective strategic plans & develop distinctive propositions in chosen sectors. You will coordinate competitor / customer intelligence & undertake benchmarking activities, whilst also preparing & delivering market communications activities, including ownership of the website & leveraging the potential of branding. You will be expected to build effective relationships throughout the company, including Tata Steel International, sharing research, customer satisfaction, market trend information.
You will also be responsible for the effective & ongoing assessment of customer satisfaction, & coordination of follow-up activity.
To be successful in the role you will be able to demonstrate a track record of strategic marketing, with a clear commercial understanding of your product / industry sector. Our client is looking for an individual with proven success in a marketing role, with strong emphasis on market & customer base analysis, research, analysis and understanding of competitors and the competitive environment, how to go to market, how to create a distinctive offering and compelling proposition in new and existing markets and sectors. They are not looking for a marcomms professional for this role.
You will be of graduate caliber, with recognized business and professional qualifications, with previous experience gained within the mechanical engineering market, for example Aerospace, Oil and Gas, Bearings, PowerGen etc
