Description
A successful and growing Manufacturer of Electric Control Systems is looking for an Applications Engineer to join their busy technical team.
Main Responsibilities:-
Interpreting client specifications and requirements in conjunction with sales department quotation.
Liaise with client and attend site meetings as necessary.
Produce schematic diagrams on our CAD system and issue to client for approval.
Engineer detailed designs of motor control gear/switchgear using standard building blocks/components.
Produce component schedules and instruction note sheets.
Specify and order bought-out equipment.
Produce co-ordination curves, protection settings and calculations as required.
Prepare descriptions of operations if required.
Be aware of relevant standards and practises within the electrical engineering industry and the Health and Safety at Work Act.
Attend various training courses as and when required.
Liaise with shop floor, test, installation and commissioning departments as required.
Requirements:-
A sound knowledge of application engineering in the motor control gear/switchgear industry, either in LV or MV
Recognised formal qualifications and/or relevant experience
A working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel & Access and CAD systems are required.
Candidates familiar with Medium Voltage Systems, 3.3KV / 6.6KV / 11KV, will have a distinct advantage
