A world leading defence company are looking for an Electronic Design Engineer familiar with the design lifecycle including verification and test. The company have an interesting and complex product range and offer a bright future.
Purpose of role
To provide product design solutions and delivery in accordance with defined specifications, budget and timescales
Tasks
Provide design solutions as required by engineering and new product introduction programmes
Liaise and agree performance and test criteria for electronic circuits, often micro controller based, to be used in current and future products
Liaise with software engineers to integrate software and hardware
Design and commission the circuit designs including PCB layout (PROTEL) and bench level debugging of through hole and surface mount designs
To produce Bills of Materials and related documents to facilitate procurement and manufacture
To support the transfer of designs from Engineering to Production
Experience
High reliability, safety critical equipment industry such as automotive, aerospace, defence, rail etc
Emulators, oscilloscopes, logic analysers and RF instrumentation
Formal documentation and test procedures associated with Product introduction Processes
Requirements analysis to design, development into production
CAD tools (Schematic capture, PCB layout, Circuit Simulation) Design and layout of Surface Mount and Through Hole Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) using PCB layout software – (PROTEL)
Analogue and digital design including microprocessor circuits
Hands on experience of building surface mount PCBs.
Bench level verification, debug and test
