Senior Engineer
Location Hampshire

Main purpose of Job Designing Algorithms, Products or Systems
System Design - The analysis of digital radio communications, video processing systems and IP systems. The development of digital signal processing algorithms.
Software Development - Develop digital signal processing software for embedded systems and PC applications using C and assembly languages.
Hardware Design - VHDL and schematic design of Hardware to implement appropriate algorithms. Initial placement and layout of the PCB. Test and verification of the design. Metalwork design
Production Support - Generation of Test Procedures, work instructions, BOMs and test documentation as appropriate to enable the transfer of a design into manufacturing / test.
Research - Investigate new technologies, development of concept demonstrators and input to the formation of company strategy.
Sales Support - Provide technical assistance to Sales including demonstrations, tenders and quotes.
Project Management - Plan projects to meet agreed timescales at minimum cost including material and labour resource planning. Conduct Design Reviews.
Customer Support - Engineers are likely to have to help support customers during the new product introduction process
Key Skills
Hardware Design - Schematic Capture, Layout, VHDL, Modelsim
Software Design - C/C++ Programming essential, Linux Drivers, Windows Applications, embedded design
RF Design - RF modelling tools (Microwave Office), RF Layout and use of test equipment
Basic use of Frequency domain and time domain test equipment
Ability to manage a small team to deliver a moderate sized project
Willingness to learn the use of bespoke PC applications for in house systems
