Description A leading aerospace and defence company are looking for senior engineers within the stress department. There are two levels of role open, Mid & Senior.
Role Profile Generate load cases and factors documents for major Project(s) Prepare and underwrite Structural Integrity Plans for major Project(s) Underwrite structural performance for major Project(s) Effective management to deliver against Project’s programmes within the agreed quality, time and cost. Identify structural risks and opportunities for the Project(s) Engineers, Ground & Air Trials Managers, Aircraft Integration Managers, and Design Authority Managers. Responsible for underwriting Projects Structural Analysis Team cost/technical and programme proposals. Carry out technical analyses and investigations (independently or through leadership of a multi-skilled project team) of complex problems, issues and opportunities to provide conclusions and implications. Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory and corporate requirements within area and keep abreast of changes which may impact the business. Provide technical input to bids for new business to facilitate the successful conclusion of bids. Ensure effective process governance in assigned areas, including developing the design of modifications and improvements to processes in accordance with relevant standards, best practice and developing needs.
Candidate Profile Degree qualified or equivalent, plus substantial relevant experience. Sound fundamental knowledge of mechanical engineering, stress and vibration analysis Demonstrated capability for interfacing with customers. Can define, re-engineer and review Company Structural Processes. Good commercial and financial understanding. Strategic planning capability. Excellent problem solving skills. Highly developed communication skills: able to communicate verbally and in writing at Board level. Experience in engineering in defence or related industry. Well-developed planning and organisation skills and project management expertise. Able to provide technical leadership to others. Proven record in conducting successful technical investigations and research. Able to develop links with other technical specialists, Knowledge and experience of Def. Stan. 07-85
Experienced in classical and Finite Element Structural Analysis and preferably has used the following tools, NASTRAN, PATRAN, MathCAD, Pro/Engineer
