Sector Strategy Manager Defence



A leading defence company specialising in detection and disposal of explosive devices are looking for a strategy manager with an excellent industry and commercial knowledge.

Responsibility for understanding the market sectors in which the company operates.



Key Accountabilities & Duties:

Ensuring Sector Market Analysis and understanding are sufficient to develop clear and robust strategies for growth.

Develop, produce and own the Sector Strategy Action Plans (SSAPs).

Define product and capabilities to meet current and future market needs in each identified sector.

Develop and define a market and product strategy for each sector including business winning, and E&T investment plans.

Ensuring Sector Market Intelligence is available in time to enable investment decisions to be made to meet significant new opportunities.

Co-ordinating the timely review and update of Sector Strategy to feed into the Market Plan, and the timely updates to same.

Producing and championing the delivery, timely reviews and updates of Sector Strategy Action Plans and the creation of new ones as required in order to implement the strategies and reach growth targets outlined in the Market Plan.

Ensuring E&T and Manufacturing Road Maps are aligned with the Sector Strategy requirements.

Ensuring Sector PV and Capex cases are raised, approved & delivered.

Ensuring Order Intake targets are identified and campaign plans are in place and being discharged and order intake is monitored and reported as required

Work with the S&M Director to allocate and monitor Sales Manager targets in specific Sectors.

Ensuring campaign plans are in place & being discharged – requires a close working relationship between SSM & Sales Mangers.

Monitoring of order fulfilment – on time, to specification & cost and to the satisfaction of the customer.

Monitoring of progress – financial performance, win ratios, market share, programme etc.

Take a key role inputting to the 5 Year Plan, Budgets and Forecasts.



Experience

Appropriate experience in Business Development, Sales or Marketing.

Customer and user focus.

Appreciation of Product Development and Engineering disciplines.

Ability to motivate and lead others.

Financial and market awareness.
