Description
Our client is an global leader in diagnostic products for power transmission utilities, power producers, oil and gas and other heavy industries.
Due to continued expansion they currently have an opportunity for a Project Engineer to join their team. The role reports directly to the Projects Manager and project manages orders from receipt to completion.
Duties will include:
Review customer Purchase Orders. Highlight key issues – commercial, technical, etc and manage these.
Create project plans with key milestones and track performance to targets.
Use visual management of project status and reporting KPIs.
Liaise with customers and internal depts to resolve problems and ensure smooth running of project to target dates.
Create BOMs, technical specs and shipping paperwork (as required).
Supervise assembly of the system i.e. PCs, Software, Cabinets & Components
Organise and supervise customer Factory Acceptance Tests.
Address post delivery contractual issues.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to the project delivery process.
Applicants must possess the following skills and qualifications
Demonstrable background within a similar role
HNC/HND/Degree in Electrical Engineering/Electronics/Technology or equivalent
Proficient using spreadsheets to aid analysis and project planning tools.
Project management, scheduling, budgeting for projects.
Good attention to detail and customer focused.
Good project manager, planner and multitasker.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Detailed and Analytical orientation. Good root cause skills. High drive, enthusiasm and initiative.
Enjoy heavy interface with other staff in manufacturing, engineering, CSC, sales, production.
Must enjoy fast paced environment and work well under pressure.
Self-starter and innovative. Must be proactive.
Time management skills, including planning and budgeting.
This role is a mix of office and plant environment, approximately an 80/20 split. Applicants must be willing to travel to visit customers overseas and willing to work extra hours to complete important tasks.
