Description Mechanical Technician / Engineer Technician £Competitive Salary Middlesbrough, Teesside
Our client is one of the world’s leading energy companies, with natural gas and electricity operations spanning the globe.
Reporting to the Mechanical Co-ordinator within the E&M Maintenance department, you will be responsible for the safe management & co-ordination of all mechanical maintenance & engineering activities associated with the installed plant at Teesside Power Station and specified off-site locations. You will be part of a highly skilled, self-motivated, maintenance team, whose primary objective is to ensure Teesside Power Station is maintained to the highest standard.
The ideal candidate will have: · HNC or equivalent in an engineering discipline. · Time served apprenticeship in a mechanical, piping or fabrication discipline. · Four years post qualifying work experience. · Knowledge of Plant SHE (Safety, health and the environment) systems & procedures. · Appreciation of PTW, SWP and ISO systems. · Ability to understand technical documentation and drawings · PC literate and knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes to produce associated documents.
The main responsibilities of the role include:
· Safe and effective execution of daily mechanical activities via contract labour, delivering safety, performance & commercial targets. · Organise and review appropriate contractor method statements, risk assessments & other safety documentation, in order to prepare work packs. · Ensuring that site projects are well supported by providing regular attendance & contributions at meetings, combined with proactive, accurate responses to technical queries, installations & commissioning. · Taking responsibility for developing & improving procedures & policies covering mechanical & associated maintenance activities. · Ensuring best practice working & effective use of Mechanical systems to maximise equipment availability. · Summarise key information into management reports to develop priorities and actions,
