Description RF SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN CENTRE FOR SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH GENEVA, SWIZERLAND
We are seeking an experienced RF Systems Technician to work on linear particle accelerators. As part of a small multicultural team you will contribute to the operation, maintenance and consolidation of the high-power Radio Frequency systems and will be responsible for RF support of the radioactive-ion linac which will include performing measurements of amplifier parameters at low and high-power, optimizing the settings of the Radio Frequency system for specific particle beam parameters, maintaining and repairing Radio Frequency amplifiers of both tube and solid-state type.
You will also participate in the development and construction of new amplifier systems and related equipment for the new Linac4 as well as assuring the maintenance of the electronic modules required for the voltage and phase control of the accelerating structures, performing calibration measurements in the laboratory, repairing the faulty modules and upgrading their design using modern components as required.
To succeed as RF Systems Technician you should be qualified to Higher Technical Diploma level in Electrical Engineering or Electronics with experience in design and construction of high-power Radio Frequency amplifiers using tube and/or solid-state technology and knowledge of Radio Frequency and/or Microwave technology.
You must demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility and initiative and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
You must be fluent in either English or French, with a basic knowledge of the other language or an undertaking to acquire it rapidly.
All positions are offered on a limited-duration contract for a period of five years. Subject to certain conditions, holders of limited-duration contracts may be granted an indefinite contract.
